Beautiful Book

I had been wanting this book for a long time, and now that I finally have it, I'm in love with it. The artwork is gorgeous, it was one of the things that stuck with me even after I finished the game, and having it all compiled in this book is fantastic. The lore and excerpts were great, I absolutely love the world of Dishonored. It's one of my favorite games ever, and this book is a true gem that I am delighted to have on my shelf. I'm even more excited for Dishonored 2 now! I NEED IT!!

Revisit Dunwall again

[[VIDEOID:37798b15f453910d588edef43693bbbf]]Dishonored: The Dunwall Archives is a nice companion book that adds to the story of Dishonored through excerpts gathered from individuals from Dunwall and other sources.

The book's a hardcover somewhere between A4 and A5 size. The 212 pages are filled with a mixture of artworks and text.

The excerpts could be stuff like lyrics to the songs sang by sailors, dialogue from a theatre plays, observations from travelers' journals, Overseer's findings, etc. All these provide pieces of information that adds to the world created by the game. You'll be able to learn more about certain people, government officials, the Empress, Rat Plague, whaling or even how to operate a butcher's saw. Basically, you get a different perspective of how things are, the other side of the story as told from various sources.

The artworks are wonderful. Unfortunately, there isn't a dedicated artbook for the game, so you'll have to make do with the selected pieces of artworks included in this book, which are mostly full coloured concept art.

It's an interesting book of art and fiction of Dunwall by Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks. Recommended to Dishonored fans.

This is not an art book

Seems Arkane Studios is gonna keep the game's breathtakingly beautiful artworks in their vault for longer time. This is not an art book, this is a novel-size essay collection with pictures, basically 50% texts, 50% artworks. It includes the notes and novels you can find in the game, printing them nicely in this book.

- High-quality printing
- Contains a few artworks and texts that never seen before

Cons
- This is NOT an art book T_T

Though it's the only official Dishonored print available. Still Love it.

The Ultimate Glimpse into Kievan Rus

This book was published in the 1940's, but was then renewed in 1976. While it is a bit outdated, the information that's found in the book is astonishing. Nearly every apsect of Kievan Rus is here: history, ways of life, systems of status, etc. And while the author Vernadsky does add his own opinions in only a few spots, the book is still very unbiased. So this is an excellent introduction of Medieval Russian history (another is the first half of "Land of the Firebird" by Suzanne Massie.).

Simply said, this is a fantastic book for those interested in studying early Russian history. The book is broken up into chapters and sub-headings so that it is clean, organized, and easy to follow. A great place to start for those interested in ancient Russia and should be in ever Russian history enthusiasts book collection.

the essential book on the Kievan Rus' in English

Overall a very good introduction to the history the Kievan Rus'--and indeed, the standard history thereof since its first publication way back in the 1940s. A bit dry in places, but it contains a real wealth of information presented in a narrative that for whatever it lacks at times in compelling intrigue does provide the core details of a dazzling array of plots, bitter fights for power, and other drama of princes and their factions who are fighting for the control of a growing domain. This book also however presents a decent amount of information on daily life: agriculture, religion and the like. It would be possible to read about three books in Russian and get the same information but also a bit more and with greater diversity of viewpoint as the Vernadsky book is a single-author volume, but for an English-language introduction to the Kievan Rus', this can't be beat, really.

The authors have compiled vital information from the evaluation literature and draw on a wide range of practical experience. Using this book, evaluators will be able to identify, analyze, and judge 26 evaluation approaches and to apply the Joint Committee Program Evaluation Standards to discriminate between legitimate and illicit approaches.

Recognizing that no single evaluation approach is always best, the authors assist evaluators to select approaches that best fit a particular evaluation assignment. A case drawn from housing and community development illustrates the application of six noteworthy approaches: experimental design, case study, Stufflebeam's CIPP Model, Scriven's consumer-oriented evaluation, Stake's responsive evaluation, and Patton's utilization-focused evaluation.

About the Author
Daniel L. Stufflebeam, Ph.D., is Distinguished University Professor and Harold and Beulah McKee Professor of Education at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. He founded the Evaluation Center at Ohio State University in 1965 and was its director until 2002.

Anthony J. Shinkfield, Ed.D., has served in numerous positions in education leadership, including assistant director, Research and Planning Directorate, Education Department of South Australia. He is currently involved in the evaluation of independent schools and universities in Australia.

Excellent overview of evaluation methodology

I bought this text as I am doing an Evaluation subject in my Masters degree, and Daniel Stufflebeam is considered one of the experts in the field. The text is extremely comphrensive in it's coverage of evaluation methodology, and covers most of the literature in the field of program evaluation. Evaluation methodology is quite complex and the choices of what method can be overwhelming. There is good critique throughout and it covers evaluation in government, social services, not for profit, for profit and education.

I would say this is the worst book I've ever read

I would say this is the worst book I've ever read. Having a Ph.D in the field of research and evaluation, I find this book EXTREMELY trivial. The points are very difficult to figure out, and the logic behind sentences are jumping. An idea a sentence can deliver will be developed into many sentences. It is more of a headache even than stats books. If you are going to buy it, I would definitely recommend you read some chapters online and then decide if you like it. 99.9% of chance you will understand what I am saying.

Rope Burns

"Rope Burns" was well-researched with a lot of details. Sometimes the author went into a bit too much detail and strayed from the main subject. There was lots of focus on the crimes of Daveggio's childhood friend Michael Ihde and also a description of the abduction of Jaycee Lee Dugard, because some people suspected Daveggio and Michaud had kidnapped her because Michaud looked similar to the police sketch of Dugard's kidnapper. I also found the ending a bit rushed. There was quite a lot of descriptions of the trials in the Rodriguez case but almost nothing about the Samson trial.

"Rope Burns" was a quick and pretty interesting read that could have been better. 3+

The Sickest twisted people I've ever read about!

I could not put this book down! I read it really quickly and though it was long I just couldn't stop. Yes there were some very gruesome details. However, I feel that Mr. Scott did a wonderful job of taking the reader inside the mind of these two sicko's! I did get confused a couple of times because he went off subject just a bit to write about other events that did turn out to be relevant to the story after all further down the line. All in all this book was very well written and yes very, very scary. It scared me because I knew there were some really sick men out there but the female killer in this book has no morals! She allows this man to molest her own daughter while she watches and then does the same herself! Sick twisted people who really deserve what's coming to them!

I loved the book.I actually went to the high school that one of the girls in the book was murdered I lived in the area and knew the girl personally so this hit home very hard and was an experience reading this book
